Eventually, this country will have a government interested in encouraging the best parts of modern capitalism while restraining the worst.”

“Reinventing Capitalism in the Age of Big Data” now available for preorder

Professor Mayer-Schönberger’s new book (co-authored with Thomas Ramge) is now available for preorder, including at Amazon. Titled “Reinventing Capitalism in the Age of Big Data”, the book takes Professor Mayer-Schönberger’s international bestseller “Big Data” to the next level: what happens when rich data is available on markets? Mayer-Schönberger and Ramge argue that with an abundance of data, we’ll see a renaissance of the market, but firms and money will come under pressure, and we may see the end of finance capitalism as we know it. But there is an inherent danger in data-rich markets – and if we do not protect them against their inbuilt weakness, we may end up in a world that seems free, but behind the scenes offers total control to those controlling the access to data.
